Our display was created by owner Mario, office manager Barbara & server Kara. We’d like to give a special thanks to Steve from Hobbymasters on White St. for consulting with us about some technical issues.

Murphy Style Grill's Annual Chili Contest

First Place Winner Recipe
Beef and Turkey Chili - By Eve Brownstein

2 Cups Onions (about 1 1/2 medium)
3 Tbsp Canola Oil

Combine thoroughly in a Bowl and Set Aside
2/.5 lbs Ground Beef
2 lbs Turkey

Combine thoroughly in a Bowl and Set Aside
3 Teaspoons Dried Red Pepper Chili Flakes
3 Teaspoons Ground Cumin
3 Teaspoons Ground Coriander
2 Teaspoons Garlic Powder

Combine thoroughly in a Bowl and Set Aside
3/4 Cup Beef Broth
1/3 Cup Worcestershire Sauce
8 oz. can Tomato Sauce
6 oz. can Tomato Paste
1 12 oz. can Coke (not diet, or other flavors - just the classic version)
2 Teaspoons Salt
1 Teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
2 15.5 oz. cans Small White Beans (do not discard liquid)

1.  In a large frying pan, heat the oil over medium heat.  Add the onions and cook til translucent. 
Turn heat to medium-low.
2.  Add the combined chili, cumin, coriander and pepper flakes, stir well and cook for one minute.
3.  Add the combined meats and turn the heat back up to medium-low and brown the meat till no pink remains.  Remove from heat.
4.  Pour entire contents of frying pan remains.  Remove from heat.
5.  Add the combined liquid ingredients with the salt and pepper and mix thoroughly. 
6.  Place back on the stove on high heat till it just boils.
7.  Add the two cans of beans, TOGETHER with the liquid in the can.  Stir well.
8.  Turn down to simmer and cook for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
